For nearly 20 years, Continuum Attractions operated and marketed the Jorvik Viking Centre at the peak of its success. The management contract delivered over £1m profit a year to the archaeological charity which owns the site. Visitor numbers peaked at 980,000 per annum under Continuum Attractions’ management. A £5m reinvestment programme was steered through on the client’s behalf by Continuum in 2001.
The Jorvik Viking Centre became a worldwide success story, both as a popular visitor attraction and as a game changer for the heritage and visitor attraction industry. Members of the Continuum Attractions Team and Board led those twin success stories.
“The industry changed following Jorvik; visitors came to enjoy museums and museums came to respect and value visitors. The ethos behind Jorvik set the values for Continuum Attractions and remain in place today”
